Popup in another direction + disable opacity effect

Popup in another direction:
Currently the puff popups can only popup upwards, could support for other direction such as left, right and downwards be implemented?
Disable opacity effect:
I'd like also if it were able to disable the opacity effect since opacity makes the font look ugly in IE because it removes the cleartype style.
