Rating Control UI
October 29, 2009 - 10:13am — ripter001This is an easy to use rating control. It takes a normal select box, and turns it into a rating that your users can click on. The select box is preserved so you can still bind on change, get, and set the value in the rating control. The image is controlled with CSS and a simple gif, so you can make it look like anything you need.
This control works with AJAX and $.serialize() as well as my own $.serializeForm() plugin.
Turns this:
<select class="rating">
<option value="0">Did not like</option>
<option value="1">Ok</option>
<option value="2" selected="selected">Liked</option>
<option value="3">Loved!</option>
</select>
Into a Rating Control with 4 stars.
Simple starRating
February 11, 2009 - 2:38pm — acosonicPlugin is simple, but bundled with several cool features, it sends rating to a scrip via jQuery ajax call, and updates value on stars depending on current rate.
All you need to do is create your own stars or other images you want to use, and you are ready to go.
Usage:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#ratingID').starRating({
basicImage : 'star.png',
hoverImage : 'star_hover.png',
ratingUrl : 'rate.php',
paramId : 'photo237',
paramValue : 'rateVal'
});
});Please visit project's homepage or download zip for detailed instructions and examples.
All options you can override (default values):
- basicImage : 'star.gif', //can be subdir like 'images/star.gif'
- ratedImage : 'star_rated.gif',
- hoverImage : 'star_hover.gif',
- ratingStars : 5, //how much stars to draw

Sexy Vote
December 9, 2008 - 8:55am — kadalashviliSexy Vote is a jQuery plugin that allows you to easily embed voting system on your web site. The only thing you should do is to write $("#vote").sexyVote() or something like this, and the rest of work will be done for you! Ah yes, you should also write callback function that will respond to user's voting (it will probably handle saving the vote on the server via AJAX request), but it's quite easy to write it. You can also configure plugin to customize its appearance. If you will like this plugin, please vote for it! :)
